JORDAN LEEPER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Austin, Tx., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 24th through Sunday, October 30th. This marks the second time this season Leeper has won the award for Defensive Player of the Week.
Leeper led the second-ranked Tiger women's soccer team to a pair of shutout wins in SCAC play over the weekend, concluding the regular season schedule.
Leeper and the Trinity defense allowed just 8 total shots in the two wins, finishing the conference schedule with 11 shutouts in 12 games played.
Leeper also scored the game-winning goal in Friday's win over Schreiner, notching her second goal of the season in the first minute of action.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior goalkeeper Erica Coker of Centenary College put in an impressive performance in her final game on the Mayo Field pitch, making 8 saves and allowing only one goal with just minutes remaining in the contest. Coker finishes as the career leader in saves for Centenary, grabbing more than 400 for her career. Senior defender Krystel Wolfe of Texas Lutheran University led a Bulldogs' defensive effort to a 2-1 win over Southwestern that helped the Bulldogs secure the No. 3 seed for the SCAC Tournament. Wolfe also came forward from her defensive position to score her first goal of the season.
