ERICA COKER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior goalkeepr from Frisco, Tx., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 17th through Sunday, October 23rd. This marks the second time this season Coker has won the award for Defensive Player of the Week.
Coker recorded her fourth shutout of the season as Centenary knocked off Dallas 3-0 to clinch the fifth seed in the upcoming SCAC Tournament.
Coker's 10 saves against Dallas marks her 6th double-digit save game of the season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Jordan Bethea of Trinity University led the third-ranked Tiger women's soccer team to a pair of road victories in SCAC play this weekend, allowing just one goal and scoring her first goal of the season along the way. Junior defender Ana Gutierrez of Southwestern University provided 2 assists as the Pirates' main free kick taker in conference games against Trinity and Schreiner.
