HANNAH BOOHER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Deer Park, Tx., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, September 19th through Sunday, September 25th.
Booher led third-ranked Trinity to three wins over the last week, including two road shutouts in conference play against Austin College and Centenary.
Booher finished the week with 2 goals and an assist from her defensive position, as well as holding Austin and Centenary to only 4 combined shots in 180 minutes of play.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman goal keeper Stephanie Barrientos of Texas Lutheran University was subbed for TLU's injured starting goalkeeper Erin Rose and made an impressive 9 saves in a 2-1 non-conference road win at Huston-Tillotson. Barrientos also deflected two dangerous crosses in the first half that would have set up good scoring chances for the Rams. Freshman defender Mallory Harkins of Southwestern University was a key member of the defense that shutout Dallas and Huston-Tillotson to keep SU perfect in conference play. Harkins added in a goal of her own, with a header off a corner kick in SU's 3-0 win over HTU on Sunday.
