AUDREY SILVER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior defender, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, September 12th through Sunday, September 18th.
Silver was crucial in a Southwestern back line that allowed just one goal in two conference wins against Centenary and Austin College to keep the Pirates perfect in conference play.
Silver also scored her first career goal in the 6-1 win over Centenary.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defender Tara Armstrong of Texas Lutheran University led a Bulldog defensive effort that held Austin College to zero goals on 10 shots in a double-overtime draw. Armstrong also scored on a penalty in a 4-1 win against Centenary. Senior defender Jordan Leeper of Trinity University led a back line that held Dallas without a shot in a 5-0 victory to post a third shutout in the first five games.
