EMILY DONNAN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Houston, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, September 28th through Sunday, October 4th. 

Donnan led Trinity to three shutout victories last week, including a pair of SCAC shutouts against two teams in the top half of the conference standings. Donnan and the Tiger defense allowed just eight total shots over the three games, with only three of those coming in the SCAC games against Texas Lutheran and Southwestern.

In addition to leading the stout defensive efforts, Donnan also contributed three goals in the three games to aid the offense. The goals this week were the first of the season for Donnan, and she has been a key element to the Tiger defense all year as well. She has anchored a Trinity defense that has yielded just two goals in 12 games, and has recorded eight consecutive shutouts (10 shutouts overall).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Kylie Hunt of Southwestern University posted 21 saves in two games including 17 against #3 Trinity on Sunday in San Antonio. Sophomore goalkeeper Laura McGee of Austin College helped Austin College earn a 1-1 draw with a strong performance in goal, turning away Dallas with a 0.82 goals against average in 110 minutes of action. Sophomore goalkeeper Elena Naccari of Dallas held the opposition in check through two matches this past weekend, as Dallas finished 1-0-1. Junior goalkeeper Erin Rose of Texas Lutheran University made four saves and pitched a double-overtime shutout against Schreiner as the Bulldogs and Mountaineers tied in Kerrville, 0-0.
