
DANIKA WRIGHT
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from
Alpine, Utah, has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 5
through Sunday, October 11.
Wright led a Tiger defense that posted a pair of
shutouts on the road last weekend, allowing just seven total shots
and only two shots on goal.
Wright and the Tiger defense allowed just four
shots and two corner kicks to Birmingham-Southern on Friday night,
then held Millsaps to just three shots and two corner kicks on
Sunday afternoon.
The defense, led by Wright, has recorded eight
shutouts in nine games this season, giving up just one goal
overall. The Tigers have recorded four shutouts in their last four
games.
