LEILANI MCDANIEL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through October 23rd.
McDaniel closed out the fall portion of the 2018-19 season by earning medalist honors at the Abilene Intercollegiate with a 36-hole score of 151 (78-73) on the par-71 6,009-yard Diamondback Course. McDaniel began the final round in sixth-place, five strokes behind the leader but fired a tournament low 73 to capture the title. On the week, McDaniel led the field with 24 pars and finished with three birdies.
McDaniel also led the Pirates to a fourth-place finish out of seven teams with a team score of 653 (333-320).
