Kailee Mulkey, Texas Lutheran University, Player of the Week (Week 6)

Mulkey led TLU to a 75-63 home victory last Tuesday over Schreiner to open up SCAC play in the lone contest of the week for the Bulldogs. It marked the second-straight season TLU has registered a victory in the SCAC opener. Mulkey poured in a game-high 19 points on 63.6 percent shooting (7-of-11), snagged four steals, corralled three rebounds and dished out two assists in the win. She is now shooting 46.9 percent from the field in her rookie season, currently fifth best in the SCAC.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Destini Powell of Centenary led the Ladies with 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 62-59 victory over Dallas last week. It marked just the second time since Centenary joined the SCAC that the Ladies have opened SCAC play with a victory. Sophomore guard Audrey Bayston of Colorado College averaged 17 points per game last week for the Tigers, including a career-high 26 points in a loss to Whitman on Sunday. In her career effort, Bayston connected on 50 percent from the field (9-of-18) and grabbed nine rebounds. Bayston averaged a double-double on the week, totaling 21 rebounds, to average 10.5 per game. Freshman guard Canai McPherson of Dallas scored 27 points and grabbed five rebounds in the Crusaders’ three-point loss to Centenary last Wednesday. Senior guard Josline Hernandez of Schreiner led the Mountaineers with 16 points and five rebounds in a tough, 75-63, loss to TLU in Seguin last Tuesday.
