The Pirates, however, closed the half on another tremendous run - leading by as many as 12 - before settling for the seven point halftime lead.

Southwestern saw its lead balloon to 13 in the early stages of the second half and maintained a comfortable advantage until the game's last few minutes. The Pirates took advantage of being in the bonus with 14 minutes to go in the game, and earned 25 points from the free throw line in the second half alone.

Sophomore guard Sabriyyah Fennell paced Schriener with 19 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Kelsie Jackson added 16 points and five rebounds.

Southwestern improved to 14-12 with the victory and will face the winner of today's second semifinal between Texas Lutheran University and Trinity University. Tomorrow's SCAC women's title game is scheduled to tip at Noon CT.
