LINDSEY LONGUET OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 1st through Sunday, April 7th.
Longuet was dominant last weekend earning her ninth and 10th wins of the season in helping the Pirates sweep Trinity, 3-0, in a weather-shortened series. The junior allowed just two hits in 12.0 innings of work and struck out nine, including seven in the 2-0 opening series victory. Longuet currently leads the SCAC in wins (10) and strikeouts (68) and is second in ERA (1.71).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Hannah Ortiz of Schreiner was outstanding in the circle last weekend earning her third and fourth wins of the season in helping the Mountaineers secure a 3-1 series win over Centenary. Ortiz pitched a pair of complete game shutouts, allowing just seven hits in 14 innings of work, while striking out nine.
