REBECCA BERRETH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior shortstop from Pearland, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, February 4th.
Berreth had a phenomenal start to her season that led the Tiger softball team to its first 4-0 start in the SCAC era, sweeping road doubleheaders against McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
Berreth had a hit in each game, including three multi-hit games to post a .588 (10-17) batting average.
In Saturday's weekend finale at Hardin-Simmons, Berreth was 4-4 with two runs and four RBI, tying a school record with three doubles in the game. She tallied a total of seven extra-base hits to go with six runs and six RBI, hitting five doubles, a triple, and a home run.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Alyssa Maki of Schreiner University recorded four hits in the Mountaineer's two games, including a double against Howard Payne. Junior Rylie Goldwait of Trinity University picked up two hits and scored two runs in game 1 against McMurry.
