John Hattan of Southwestern University, a senior from Georgetown, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at the Rhodes Invitational. 

Hattan ran a 26:50 on a true 8k course finishing sixth among Div. III runners and 17th overall. He led Pirates to a ninth-place finish in a field of 21 on a course that was mostly grass with some long up hill runs.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Junior Caleb Calderon of Texas Lutheran took home a first-place finish in the Bulldog Invitational and led his team to an overall victory last Saturday. Calderon’s 5k time of 17:11 beat his next competitor by over 35 seconds. Johnson & Wales senior Alberto Rodriguez finished 11th of 227 runners at the Missouri Southern Stampede with a time of 26:55.9. In extremely muddy and wet conditions sophomore Joe Kilmer of Dallas finished second overall at the Bulldog Invitational to pace the Crusaders with a 17:47 which helped lead his team to second-place rank.
