HAO NGUYEN AND CHRISTIAN SETTLES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played through February 2.
Nguyen, a freshman from Sugar Land, Texas and Settles, a freshman from Claremont, Calif., went 3-0 to start off #13 Trinity’s 2020 spring season in Hawaii, earning wins over three ranked teams. The Tiger duo opened the season against D-II No. 9 Hawaii Pacific, earning a 7-6 (8-6) win for the lone Trinity doubles victory. The duo earned wins over doubles teams at No. 24 Cal Tech and second-ranked Claremont.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Vesko Lekovic and senior Alex Dimanche of Southwestern earned a win at the No. 3 doubles line to help the Pirates secure and opening season victory against St. Thomas last week. Sophomore Joshua Brown and senior Dylan Lane of Texas Lutheran went 2-2 on the opening road trip of the season at the No. 2 doubles line, posting wins over Louisiana College and Centenary.
