DAYLON GORDON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Dallas, Texas has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches beginning September 11th.
Gordon led #4 Trinity to a 2-1-0 record in three SCAC home games last week, including a pair of shutouts against Schreiner and #20 Colorado College.
Gordon and the Tiger defense started the week with a shutout win over Schreiner, allowing just three shots on goal during the game. Gordon finished by assisting on both of Trinity's scoring plays in a shutout against #20 Colorado.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Chase Gaskill of Austin College had an excellent weekend as the anchor of the Austin College defense as the 'Roos went 1-0-1. Freshman goalkeeper Sean Carlin of the University of Dallas played all 95:51 minutes in the University of Dallas men's soccer team's 3-2 upset at fourth-ranked Trinity University on Friday. Carlin had three saves but also smothered several loose balls that prevented the Tigers' offense from breaking a late tie.
