Emilio Montalvo, University of Dallas, Men's Golfer of the Week (Spring - Week 8)

EMILIO MONTALVO OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore from Mexico City, Mexico, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, April 10 through Tuesday, April 16.

Montalvo set a school record low third-round score of 210, after carding a 71 on Tuesday's final round to lead the Crusaders to a second place finish at the Rhodes College Spring Classic. Montalvo shot -6 for the tournament to finish in fourth place.

Montalvo grabbed one eagle on the course and led Dallas with 11 birdies. The sophomore now has three school records on the season with two coming in this tournament. His prevous low three round record (212) was set at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational. 

 

Freshman DJ Springer of Trinity carded a 1-over-par 73 and completed the event at 1-over 217 in a tie for 19th place at the Rhodes College Spring Classic. The first-year finished in a tie for third in pars with 39 on his card. Junior James Shalhoup of Johnson & Wales paced the Wildcats with a round of 79 (+7) on Saturday at the Wisconsin Lutheran Spring Invitational. His score was his third-best this season as a Wildcat and placed him in a tie for 35th.
