CEDRIC HARRIS OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior guard from Shreveport, La., has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, December 16 through Sunday, December 22. 

Harris scored 49 points in Centenary's two SCAC victories this past weekend as the Gents posted road wins over Austin College and Dallas to start the year 2-0 in conference play. The senior posted 28 and 10 rebounds in an 82-73 victory on Friday over the 'Roos and scored 21 with eight rebounds on Saturday in a 77-62 win over the Crusaders. Harris was 17-for-44 from the field, which included 13 three-point baskets.

Harris has scored in double figures in all nine of Centenary's games this season and is currently second in the SCAC in scoring (20.0 ppg) and third in rebounding (8.2 rpg). His double-double on Friday was his third of the season and helped the Maroon and White win their conference opener for the second-straight season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Jordan Lippman of Trinity led the Tigers to a 1-1 record at their Leslie Robinson Classic last week, defeating Sul Ross State (TX) University 92-90 in overtime, but falling to Washington & Lee (VA) University to finish the tournament. Lippman averaged 24.0 points and 12.5 rebounds for the week, including a career-best performance against Sul Ross on Monday where he poured in 33 points and grabbed 13 rebounds - both career-high marks. Junior forward Caleb Lister of Texas Lutheran averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Bulldogs' 1-1 road trip to Colorado. Lister scored 16 points and had seven rebounds in the 64-63 win over Colorado College. In the one-point loss to JWU-Denver, Lister scored 21 and had eight rebounds. Junior forward Cooxooeii Black of Colorado College scored a game-high 24 points, but CC dropped a 64-63 result to Texas Lutheran on Thursday. It marked the third time this season and the 20th time overall Black scored 20 or more points in a game. Junior forward Michael Holland of Austin College had a strong week, averaging 21.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals-per-game while shooting 57.1% from the field and 100% from the free throw line in three games. Junior guard Michael Wambsganss of Dallas led the Crusaders with a season-high 24 points behind seven made three-pointers in Friday's 79-74 loss to St. Thomas. Sophomore guard Charles Young of Johnson & Wales had 14 points, six assists and five rebounds to lead the Wildcats to their first confernce win of the season, a 59-58 victory over Texas Lutheran on Friday. He hit on 4 of 5 attempts from beyind the arc.
