James Sapp, Centenary College, Player of the Week (Week Two)

JAMES SAPP OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior forward from Shongaloo, Louisiana, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, November 27th.

Sapp had a great start in his first home game of his senior season by coming off the bench for 32 points and nine rebounds. The 32 points is the most for a player this season in the SCAC, was one off his career best, and is the fourth time in his career he scored 30+ in a game.

Coupled with his 23 points and season best 16 rebounds (which is also a single game high in the SCAC this season) on Saturday, Sapp takes over the conference lead in both points and rebounds. He is the only player in the SCAC averaging a double-double this season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Brian Baehl of Austin College had a big week as the 'Roos went 1-1, averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while boasting a 2.7-to-1 assist to turnover ratio. Junior guard Connor Kim of Southwestern University played well over the week, averaging 14.0 points while shooting 62.5% from the field. Junior forward Matthew Gillette of Texas Lutheran scored a career best 24 points and made a career high 16 free throws in the Bulldogs' game Saturday, while averaging 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds over the weekend. First-year forward Danny Rivara of Trinity University led the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding last week, averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 boards per game.
