TRAVION KIRKENDOLL OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore guard from Campti, La., has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Monday, January 11th through Sunday, January 17th.
Kirkendoll led the Gents in scoring both games this weekend as Centenary evened its conference record. On Friday, he made all six shots taken in the first half against Dallas for a first half, career-best of 18 points. He finished with 27 and just one rebound shy of a double-double.
Kirkendoll followed that up with 18 points on Saturday in a game where all five starters reached double-digit scoring. He finished two rebounds short of a double-double against Dallas.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Brian Baehl of Austin College averaged 16.5 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 47.1% from the field and 77.3% from the free throw line in two games last week. Senior forward James Lonergan of Colorado College averaged a double-double while leading Colorado College to a pair of road victories. Sophomore forward Ryan Ogden of Southwestern University averaged 20.5 points per game while shooting 50% from the floor and 33.3% from three point range in two games. Junior guard Jordan Kouremetis of Texas Lutheran University averaged 15 points per game and shot 47.4 percent from the floor and 38.5 percent from the three-point line. Freshman forward Matthew Colliflower of Trinity University came off the bench and averaged 10 points per game, shooting 7-11 from the field over the weekend.
