DEVIN HOOPER OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore designated hitter from Leander, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, February 17 through Sunday, February 23. 

Hooper hit .813 with 13 hits in 16 at bats to help lead Schreiner to a 5-0 week in non-conference play. The sophomore had five doubles and two home runs among his 13 hits to slug 1.500 for the week. He added 11 runs scored and drove in 14 as the Mountaineers exploded for 71 runs over the five-game set.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior third baseman Chris Haggard of Centenary went 5-for-11 at the plate this past weekend in the Millsaps Invitational in Jackson, Miss. Haggard belted a two-run go ahead home run in the seventh inning against Edgewood with the Gents down 3-2 to give the Maroon and White a 4-3 lead in a game in which they would go on to win 6-5. Haggard had four RBI, five runs scored, and drew two walks in the three games this past weekend. Junior outfielder Christian Wheatley of Dallas led the team in hits, going 5-for-9 with a triple in the Crusaders' three-game sweep of Arlington Baptist. Wheatley combined for three runs and runs batted in to go with a walk and stolen base. The junior drove in the go-ahead runs in the team's 8-4 victory for game two of the series. Junior second baseman Seth Sparks of Southwestern went 2-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, and run in a 7-4 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor. Junior outfielder Jack Vonderhaar of Trinity led the third-ranked Tigers a three-game sweep of Endicott College over the weekend. Vonderhaar finished 6-for-13 (.462) at the plate, scoring five runs and driving in four more for the series. He led the team in hits and runs scored, finishing with two doubles and a triple among his six hits.
