
NATHAN MALINOVSKY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher from New Braunfels, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, April 18th through Sunday, April 24th.
Malinovsky pitched the Bulldogs to a share of the SCAC regular-season title by tossing a complete-game, four-hit shutout Friday night at Southwestern. Malinovsky struck out the side in the ninth to preserved the win and the championship. He walked only two. Malinovsky improved to 8-1 and lowered his SCAC-leading ERA to 2.19.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Michael Walker of Trinity threw four shutout innings on Saturday afternoon, allowing just three hits, and striking out five batters. Senior Brian Donley of Dallas tossed 8.2 innings, while limiting the #18 Centenary College Gents to three runs on four hits. Sophomore Kaleb Kirk of Centenary allowed just six hits and three runs (two earned) in the 8th inning against Dallas.
