LINCOLN BAYLOR OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior pitcher from Schertz, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, April 11th through Sunday, April 17th.
Baylor took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and finished with a complete-game four-hitter against Centenary in the Bulldogs' 12-1 win. After walking the first batter he faced Friday, Baylor picked off the runner and then retired the next 17 batters in a row. He did not allow an earned run in the 9-inning performance. He struck out five and issued the one walk.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Will Preston of Southwestern University hurled seven frames and gave up only one earned run, while leading the Pirates to an 11-4 win over Dallas last Friday. Junior pitcher Josh Lewis of Austin College earned his fifth win of the season, becoming the first 'Roo pitcher since 2010 to hit that mark. Senior pitcher Michael Walker of Trinity earned the complete-game, seven-inning victory on the mound, allowing five runs on five hits, though just two of the runs were earned.
