CODI SIMMONS OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior on the women’s basketball team, has been selected the SCAC Character Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period beginning January 30, 2017.
Simmons is an Exercise Science major and a member of the Schreiner Women’s Basketball program.
Simmons has been a vital part of the Mountaineers success both on and off the field the past four seasons. Along with leading Schreiner on the court, Simmons has made several contributions off the field, also. Since arriving in Kerrville, Simmons has become involved in serving as a Schreiner Ambassador, Senior Resident Assistant, Fellowship of Christian Athletics, and has been a consistent member of the Schreiner Honor Roll. Also, she has volunteered her time with the local YMCA and at home with Killeen Parks and Recreation.
Through her experiences with campus life and basketball, Simmons has been able to lead in many different residential life programs. Some of the most recent projects have been volunteering coaching youth through sports camps and leagues, both here and at home.
