The Bulldogs (20-13) swung the momentum in their favor early on, coming from behind to win the first set over the 'Roos (21-18), 26-24. They then fought off any Austin College rally with a 25-22 and 25-20 win in the next two sets to clinch fifth place.
Brette Threadgill led the attack offensively with 13 kills while first team All-SCAC selction Kristin Fording added 11 kills and 11 digs in the victory. Kelcie Ingram added 26 assists on the afternoon. Defensively, SCAC Backrow Player of the Year Megan Lee concluded her excellent career with a team leading 13 digs while Carlie Childres added two blocks.
Austin College was led by Madison Lee with 10 kills while Madi McVay added seven of her own. Lauren Wulz added 22 assists. Defensively, Rachel Fusselman had 15 digs while Rebecca Franklin added 12.
