Austin College Advances to Fifth Place Match with 3-0 Win Over Centenary

Austin won 25-14, 25-13, and 25-18 in the match, bouncing back from an earlier 3-0 loss to Texas Lutheran to start the day. Centenary falls to 0-2 in the tournament.

Shelby Eaves recorded her second double-double of the day with 19 kills and 12 digs, leading the ‘Roos in both categories. The senior became Austin College's all-time leader in kills with her effort and now has 1,923 kills for her career (fourth all-time for the SCAC). Alyse Magnuson (11 digs) was the only other Austin player to reach double figures in either category, as the victory was a complete team effort. Kelsey Klingler finished with 31 assists and nine digs.

Centenary was led by Sarah Sumner’s seven digs and 14 digs, while Chelsea Petska also added 11 digs for the Ladies. Rachel Perkins posted 18 assists in the defeat, also adding six digs.

Austin will face either the winner of tonight’s matchup between Dallas and Schreiner at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, while Centenary will start off Saturday’s action against the losing team at 11:00 a.m.
