Third-Seeded Southwestern Advances to Semifinal Round of SCAC Volleyball Tournament

The Pirates improved to 25-10 with the 25-21, 25-18, and 25-20 win over the Mountaineers.  Schreiner fell to 9-20 with the loss.

Southwestern, which entered the tournament as the #3 seed, was led by double-doubles from both Macey Pool and Kaitlyn Foster. Pool had 11 kills and 11 digs, while Foster had a team-highs with both 14 kills and 20 digs. Chandler Lentz added 19 digs, while Kaitlyn Corbett also contributed 10 digs to the defensive effort of the Pirates. Nikki Welch finished with 35 assists and a pair of aces.

Jaemi Groves and Callie Du Perier both posted double-doubles in the loss for Schreiner. Groves had 22 assists and 16 digs, while Du Perier led the team with 13 kills to go with 10 digs. Jamie Burns led all players with 24 digs, while Brittany Boyett also reached double figures with 13 digs. 

Southwestern will take on Colorado College in tonight’s second SCAC Tournament Semifinal match, while Schreiner will face Dallas. Both matches are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
