ASHLYN STROTHER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher from Seabrook, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Karina Campo of Dallas picked up the lone win for the Crusaders last week in the circle, striking out two and allowing just one run in 3.2 innings in the victory on Sunday against Centenary. Senior pitcher Lindsey Longuet of Southwestern threw the first no-hitter of her collegiate career, shutting down the Austin College Kangaroos in the Pirates' 8-0 victory to open the three-game conference series. Longuet is leading the conference in strikeouts with 65 in the season, tied for first with six wins and is averaging 1.43 in earned runs. Sophomore Cat Patterson of Trinity pitched a combined shutout in the Tigers’ only win over the weekend, pitching 6.1 shutout innings of a 2-0 victory over Suffolk.
