CHASSETY RAINES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore outfielder/pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15.
Raines hit .571 over five games, all TLU victories, last week as the second-ranked Bulldogs improved to 19-1 and to 5-0 in the SCAC. She was 6-for-6 on March 9 in victories over Bethany Lutheran and Baldwin Wallace with a pair of doubles, a triple and three RBI. In the doubleheader sweep of Trinity, Raines scored four runs and had two stolen bases.
For the week, Raines' on-base percentage was .571, and her slugging percentage was 1.000.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman catcher Kathryn Dull of Southwestern went 3-for-3 with five RBI's in the 14-5 win over Concordia (Texas). Senior first baseman Danielle Ruiz of Trinity had three hits in the last four games of the year for the Tigers, including a 2-or-3 performance against Texas Lutheran in the 2020 finale. She also drove in the game-winning run against Washington College in the 10th inning on Monday, and picked up the team's only RBI of the game in Saturday's finale.
