TORI MONTEMAYOR OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior outfielder from Pearland, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, February 17 through Sunday, February 23.

Montemayor led the Pirates at the plate last week as Southwestern went 3-1, improving to 6-2 overall on the season after sweeping Our Lady of the Lake University on Friday and earning a split against Div. II St Edwards on Sunday. Montemayor went 5-for-11 (.455) in the four games with three RBI, two runs scored, a home run and a double.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior center fielder Haley Campbell of Centenary went 5-8 (.625) with three doubles, two singles, three runs scored, and a stolen base in a home doubleheader versus Jarvis Christian on Saturday. Six of Campbell's nine hits this season have been for extra bases. Sophomore outfielder Annabel Anderson of Dallas collected a hit in all four games at the Millsaps Tournament and batted .462 overall, while reaching base at a .500-clip and slugging .692. Anderson posted three doubles and runs batted in to go with two runs scored. Senior short stop Cassie Roche of Texas Lutheran hit .750 in a doubleheader sweep of Whitworth on Saturday. Roche was 2-for-2 with three RBI in the 5-0 win in the opener. She had an RBI double in the victory. She was 1-for-2 in the second game. Sophomore Cat Patterson of Trinity smashed a three-run double in the bottom of the third to lead the Tigers to a 3-1 win over Whitworth last Sunday.
