KAYLA OLIVEIRA OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from San Diego, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 4th through Sunday, March 10th.

Oliveira was dominant in a pair of SCAC starts last week. She took a no-hitter into the fifth against Dallas in her first start of the weekend. She allowed just one hit in 5-1/3 innings of work, and she struck out six. In her second start, another win, Oliveira tossed a two-hit shutout. She struck out five and walked just one. Oliveira improved to 3-2 overall and lowered her season ERA to 1.73.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Lindsey Longuet of Southwestern earned both wins in the opening twin bill against Schreiner on Friday, combining to throw 11 innings in the two games, allowing zero earned runs and striking out 10. Sophomore Allie Holbrook of Trinity paced TU to a 4-0 start in SCAC play over the weekend, sweeping two road doubleheaders from Austin College. Holbrook set the tone each day by pitching the Tigers to victory in game one of both doubleheaders. She started the series with a complete-game effort during which she allowed just one run (unearned) on six hits and struck out three batters. On Saturday, she started the final day by striking out four batters in four innings to earn the win. Holbrook finished the weekend with 10.0 innings pitched, striking out seven batters and allowing just 10 total hits. The only two runs she allowed were unearned.
