LINDSEY LONGUET OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, February 11th through Sunday, February 17th.
Longuet collected her second win of the season in the circle for the Pirates to help Southwestern get off to its best start in school history over the weekend. The junior threw a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and striking out five in seven innings of the Pirates 2-0 win against Our Lady of the Lake University in game one of the series.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Paige Rasmussen of Dallas picked up two wins in the circle last week for the Crusaders. In 12 total innings of work, Rasmussen posted a 1.75 ERA, allowing 17 hits and striking out five batters. Junior pitcher Kelsie Stone of Texas Lutheran tossed a five-hit, complete game in the Bulldogs’ 8-0 win against Concordia Texas. Stone surrendered just five hits and did not walk a batter in the five-inning contest.
