CHASSETY RAINES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 15th through Sunday, April 21st.

Raines tossed a complete-game two-hitter Friday against Centenary last week to help the Bulldogs secure the regular season softball title and the top spot in the conference tournament. Raines struck out three and did not walk a batter in improving to 7-0 and lowering her season ERA to 0.50. Raines also helped her own cause in her pitching start with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. She hit a pair of doubles and scored a run.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity pitched in three of the four SCAC games at Schreiner over the weekend, leading the Tigers to a series win to close out the regular season schedule. Holbrook finished her weekend with a no-hitter in the series finale, marking the 15th no-hitter in Trinity softball history and the first since 2016. She earned a save earlier in the day by recording the final out with the bases loaded in a 6-5 Tiger win.
