CASEY MARTIN TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman utlility player from Pearland, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 25th through Sunday, March 31st.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore third basemen Julie Duenas of Dallas led the Crusaders offensively last week which included the team’s first SCAC victory of the season against Trinity. In four games, Duenas batted .533 (8-for-15) with three RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base. Junior utility Katie Bricarell of Southwestern led the Pirates to a four-game sweep of Centenary after posting a .357 batting average (5-for-14) with six RBI, four runs scored, two extra base hits and a slugging percentage of .643. Sophomore infielder Brianna Pena of Trinity led the Tigers to a 3-1 record in its SCAC weekend series against Dallas. Pena went 6-for-12 (.500) over the four games, collecting six RBI and scoring four runs.
