LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Seven of the league's men’s cross country teams were in action last week, including the Colorado College men who competed at the Division III Pre-National meet in Louisville, Ky.

The CC men, led by senior Tony Calderon, finished 18th out of 40 teams at the Pre-National meet. Calderon posted an impressive 14th-place result among 276 runners in the "Silver" event. He covered the 8K course in a personal-best time of 24:49.6. Fellow senior Max Blackburn placed 59th with a time of 25:32.3, The Tigers spilt their squad on Saturday, and several runners competed at the Metro State Roadrunner Invitational in Denver where the Tigers came in eighth of 10 teams. Johnson & Wales was also at the Metro State event where seniors John Jacob and Bryce Moore finished in 73rd and 74th place with times of 29:25.4 and 29:25.6, respectively.

Southwestern and Trinity were both at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville Ark., where the TU Tiger men placed 12th and first among the competing Division III schools while the Pirate men came home 31st in the 39-team field. 

Junior Harry Bellow had the best finish of the day for Trinity, crossing the line in 11th place overall with a personal-best 8K time of 25:57.2. Fellow junior Keaton Holt was 30th in 26:38.2. For Southwestern, freshman Noah Dennis placed 83rd in the 346-runner field, posting a time of 27:23 over the 8K course.

The Austin College men posted a first place finish at the University of Dallas Invitational. The 'Roos were led by sophomore RJ Navarro who crossed the line first, coming in with a time of 16:35.1, while junior Johnny Biffar was second with a time of 17:17.8. Dallas took second place at its home event with freshman Thomas Lagarde notching a third place finish (17:36.7) on the day to lead the Crusaders.

St. Thomas had three individual top 10 finishes and recorded a strong second-place finish at the 8K Our Lady of the Lake Invitational. Sophomore Oscar Padilla and freshman Alonzo Corral crossed the finish line in sixth place and seventh place, respectively for the Celts, with Padilla coming across in 28:05.2 and Corral right behind in 28:07.7. 

Next week is another busy weekend with harriers from seven squads in action at various meets, including Schreiner and Southwestern at the Southwestern University Pirate Invitational and Texas Lutheran running at the Disney Cross Country Classic.
