LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Half of the 10 SCAC men’s cross country teams were in action last week, led by Trinity’s Harry Bellow turning in a top-5 finish at the OLLU Saints Collegiate Invitational.
University of Dallas competed in the Muthama-Rogers Invitational on Saturday. The Crusaders clamied seventh place at the meet with 136 points. Freshman Thomas Lagarde led the squad with a time of 27:57.7 to finish ninth on the 8K course.
Schreiner, Southwestern, Texas Lutheran and Trinity all competed at the OLLU Saints Collegiate Invitational last Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.
Trinity was the top finishing SCAC school, taking home second out of 11 teams with 62 total points. The Tigers were led by junior Harry Bellow finishing fifth with a time of 26:37.5. Teammate Keaton Holt finished sixth, crossing the line of the 8K course in 27:15.5.
Southwestern finished eighth with 200 total team points. Individually Noah Dennis led the pack for the Pirates finishing 12th with a time of 27:51.5. Schreiner, which finished 10th as a team, was led by Joseph Diaz’s 70th-place finish, crossing the line in 33:45.5.
While Texas Lutheran did not score as a team, the Bulldogs got a strong performance from freshman Israel Olivarez finishing 69th with a time of 33:31.0.
SCAC Men’s Cross-Country action continues this week with five teams in action, highlighted by Schreiner, St. Thomas and TLU competing at the Concordia Classic on Friday and Colorado College and Johnson & Wales traveling to New Mexico for the Highlands XC Jam on Saturday.
