Southwestern's Sluss, Colorado's Howlett Named SCAC Swimmer/Diver of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Freshman Matt Sluss of Southwestern University and senior Austin Howlett of Colorado College have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmer-of-the-Week and Male Diver-of-the-Week for their outstanding performance this past weekend.

 

SCAC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, November 9th

MATT SLUSS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Harker Heights, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 9th.

Sluss was a huge part of Southwestern's home victory this past weekend, defeating the Austin College 'Roos in a head-to-head matchup.

Sluss started the day with a win in the 200 IM, finishing with a time of 1:59.24 early on. He followed that up with a win in the 100 Breast, picking up the victory with a time of 1:02.09.

 

SCAC MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, November 9th

AUSTIN HOWLETT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Macawao, Hawaii, has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 9th.

Howlett started his season off with a bang in Colorado College's meet this past weekend against Colorado School of the Mines.

Howlett won both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards over the weekend. On the 1-meter, his score of 332.70 gave him a NCAA Qualifying Score. He followed that up with a score of 312.08 on the 3-meter, giving him a NCAA Qualifying Score in that event as well.
