John Schuler, Colorado College, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 1)
JOHN SCHULER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior defender from Chicago, Ill., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Monday, September 2nd. 
 
Schuler was outstanding defensively, helping to guide Colorado College to a pair of wins and start the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2012 season. Schuler anchored a defense that allowed just one goal all weekend and posted its first shutout of the year following a 3-0 win over Luther. He also chipped in offensively with the game-winning goal against Luther. Defensively, CC allowed just five shots on goal all weekend.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Brendan Dauth of Southwestern helped the Pirates to a 0-1-1 start, scoring a goal and leading a back line that allowed just three goals in 200 minutes of action last week. Sophomore defender Jacob Galan of Trinity led the Tigers to a 1-0-1 record in two overtime games to start off the 2019 season. Galan and the Tiger defense allowed just three shots on goal in more than 200 minutes of game action. .
