ANDREW HARWOOD OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior goalkeeper from Bronxville, N.Y., has been named the SCAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 18 through Sunday, March 24.
Harwood made a season-high 17 saves on Saturday to help Colorado College defeat Springfield College, 13-12, leading the Tigers to a 1-1 record on the week. The junior posted double-digit saves for the third time this season and played a key role for CC’s man-down unit that successfully killed six of seven penalties for a total of 4:30. Harwood also earned his first career assist at the end of the first quarter when he made a save and then rifled the ball the length of the field to Petau, who scored with six seconds to go. In Tuesday’s loss to Sewanee, Harwood made eight saves.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Southwestern junior defender Tanner Wallace earned his first face-off win of his career while picking up a ground ball and causing a turnover during a two-game week for the Pirates.
