Chase Maus, Texas Lutheran University, Men's Golfer of the Week (Spring - Week 1)

CHASE MAUS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Manor, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, February 18.

Maus finished fourth overall in stroke play at the Camp Bowie Intercollegiate and won his match play singles match against a LeTourneau player.

Maus shot 6-under in the two stroke-play rounds. He carded a 68 and a 70. Maus led TLU to a third-place team finish overall. The Bulldogs were second among NCAA Division III squads after shooting rounds of 286 and 296.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year golfer Jake Sitterle of Schreiner finished tied for sixth in the 54-player field in the two-round stroke portion of the Camp Bowie Intercollegiate. He shot rounds of 71 and 72 to finish at one under par 143. Senior Reed Balcerowicz of Centenary shot rounds of 74 and 70 for a two-round total of 144 and finished even part (tied for eighth individually) at the Camp Bowie Intercollegiate. Sophomore Jackson Murff of St. Thomas carded the lowest three-round score among Celt golfers at the Houston Classic as he shot a 15-over-par 231 over the two-day event, finishing tied for 27th.
