CHASE MAUS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Manor, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition from October 2 through October 8.
Maus won the LeTourneau/Tempest Intercollegiate at Tempest Golf Club with a final round score of 2-under. He opened the tournament with scores of 78 and 74 on Monday before rallying to win with a final round 70. Four shots out of the lead entering Tuesday's final round, Maus birdied holes 13, 14, and 15 before bogeying 16 and posting pars of 17 and 18 to earn medalist honors.
Over the two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday, Maus was +2 on par 3s, +5 on par 4s, and -1 on the par 5s. He was second in the tournament in number of birdies (nine), and he tied for ninth in total pars (31).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Brodey Warner of Centenary placed third overall after shooting a final-round 76 at the Tempest Intercollegiate. He shot 79-72-76 for a three-round total of 227 (+11). Freshman Jake Sitterle of Schreiner finished tied for eighth in the 60-player field at the Tempest Intercollegiate with rounds of 80-74-76--230 (+14).
