NATHAN HALEY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Richmond, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through September 17.
Haley earned his first career medalist honors last week, winning the Rockwind Links Intercollegiate on the first playoff hole at the at the par-72, 7,103-yard Rockwinds Links G.C. in Hobbs, New Mexico. After firing an opening round 71, Haley forced a playoff with a 2-under second round of 70 for a 141 two-day total. Haley’s performance lifted the Bulldogs to a third-place team finish with a 36-hole score of 599.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Robby Evans of Dallas led the Crusaders to a fifth-place team finish and fired rounds of 71 and 76 to post a 147 to finish tied for fourth at the Rockwind Links Invite. Sophomore Austin O’Brien of Schreiner posted a 36-hole total of 148 to finish tied for sixth after identical rounds of 74..
