JONTRELL HERMAN OF JOHNSON & WALES (DENVER), a senior guard from Duck Hill, Miss., has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, December 3 through Sunday, December 9.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Scott Cunningham of Colorado College recorded at least one season high in all three games last week. He posted a season-high 13 points in CC’s conference opener against Johnson & Wales. In Saturday’s loss to No. 1 Nebraska Wesleyan, the freshman guard recorded a season-high six steals and then on Sunday at Grinnell, Cunningham registered a season high 10 rebounds and nine assists.Southwestern junior forward Brandon Alexander averaged 11 points, six rebounds and one steal per game last week as the Pirates dropped non-conference contests to George Fox and Lewis & Clark. Senior guardJacob Kouremetis of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldog squad this week with 31 points in two games. Kouremetis hit a pair of three-pointers in the final minute, including the game-winner with 14 seconds to play, to lift TLU to a 79-77 home win Monday against Concordia Texas. Kouremetis hit six of his 12 three-point attempts for the game and finished with a game-high 22 points.
