CESAR RUIZ OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a junior kicker from Sachse, Texas has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 17th.
Ruiz was perfect on his kicks in a 30-17 win over Whittier, hitting 3-of-3 field goals and 3-of-3 point after attempts.
Ruiz hit a long field goal of 37 yards and added two others, helping to seal the victory over the Poets.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior wide receiver/punter Christian Aleman of Trinity University averaged 43.2 yards/punt to help lead the Tigers to a 9-3 victory over Pacific Lutheran University on Saturday night. Aleman had a long kick of 51 yards in the fourth quarter, and punted a total of six times for 259 total yards. Junior wide receiver/punter Logan Thompson of Texas Lutheran University punted three times for 128 yards for an average punt of 42.7, with a long punt of 55 yards.
