BRANDON FLEISCHMANN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior defensive lineman from Roanoke, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, October 29th.
Fleischmann recorded a team-high 10 tackles in Southwestern's 35-0 win at Austin College on Saturday.
Fleischmann posted 3.5 tackles for loss, including 2 sacks. He also broke up 2 passes and had a pair of quarterback hurries.
Fleischmann anchored a defense that limited the Roos to only 163 total yards, including just 59 on the ground, and registered its second shutout of the campaign.

Senior linebacker Darian Candler of Texas Lutheran University registered his seventh consecutive double-digit tackle game when he tallied 14 in a 1-point road loss to Trinity. Candler registered 14 total tackles (5 solos, 9 assists) and had a half-sack for a loss of two yards. Senior defensive lineman Luke Packard of Trinity University led the Tigers to a 28-27 victory over Texas Lutheran on Saturday, finishing the game with 10 tackles (3 for loss), 4 quarterback hurries, and 2.0 sacks for a loss of 10 yards in the game - including a first-down sack to disrupt TLU's final drive.
