Damiyon Harris, Trinity University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 3)

DAMIYON HARRIS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior linebacker from Conroe, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 17th.

Harris had a standout night in a tight defensive matchup against Pacific Lutheran to lead the Tiger football team to a 9-3 win on Saturday night.

Harris led all players with 14 total tackles, forcing a fumble, and picking up a tackle for loss as well.

Harris came off the bench to record his career-high in tackles. So far this season, Harris has recorded 16 total tackles for the Tiger defense - most of which came during this week's game.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior linebacker Darian Candlet of Texas Lutheran University recorded 14 total tackles for his third game in a row with double-digit tackles, had a half-tackle for loss, and two pass break-ups in the Bulldogs' road loss to Louisiana College. Sophomore defensive back Aaron Robinson of Southwestern University logged 15 tackles, including 8 solo stops and one tackle behind the line of scrimmage in a 33-23 loss to No. 18 East Texas Baptist. Sophomore defensinve lineman Hayden Schilling of Austin College finished with 3 tackles, including 0.5 sacks for the Austin College defense  in a 30-17 win over Whittier, applying pressure in the Poet backfield all game.
