JOSHUA COOK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defensive back from Fresno, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 3rd.
Cook led the Tiger football team to a 34-27 victory over the University of Redlands on Saturday night.
Cook made a crucial interception in the fourth quarter that led to Trinity's final touchdown and a 7 point victory.
Cook posted a team-best 14 tackles in the game, including 11 solo stops.

Senior defensive end Joshua Broussard of Southwestern University racked up five tackles, including three for loss and 2.5 sacks against Hardin-Simmons. Senior linebacker Darian Candler of Texas Lutheran University set a career-high for total tackles in a game with 15, with 7 solo tackles and 8 assists. Senior linebacker Charles Enah of Austin College made a team-best 8 tackles, including 6 solo stops, and 1 tackle for a loss of eight yards against Hendrix.
