TYLER CAULEY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right fielder from Baytown, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8.
Cauley hit .429 in two games against New Jersey City with five runs driven in and four runs scored. In the first game of the two-game set, Cauley belted a three-run home run and a doubles and collected five RBI. He posted an on-base percentage of .556.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Jason Brown of St. Thomas had the game-winning RBI in UST's weekend-opening 9-4 win over Doane (Neb.). He also had a two-RBI single in the team's Saturday 8-7 win over Doane. Freshman Lance Kruse of Southwestern accounted for two-thirds of the Pirates' production in a 3-2 win over Middlebury, hitting 1-for-3 with a RBI and run scored. He had the inside-the-park home run in the second and was 3-for-4 with three runs scored in the third game. Senior Nathan Patton of Dallas combined for six hits over four games this past week. In a home victory to ETBU, Patton crushed his third home run of the season to highlight a 2-3. Sophomore Sergio De Paoli of Austin College led the 'Roos batting .368 with a .400 on-base percentage and a .526 slugging percentage as AC went 3-1. De Paoli drove in four runs and scored five more while adding a double, a triple, and two stolen bases.
