DANIEL MONTGOMERY JR. OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior infielder from Boling, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 4 through Sunday, March 10.
Montgomery Jr. showcased his power over the weekend, tallying 10 hits, including three home runs and two triples, and 11 RBI to lead the Pirates to a 4-0 week. Montgomery was also efficient .625 (10-for16) on the week with a .700 on-base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage, punctuated by a 4-for-4 performance with two home runs and seven RBI in the Pirates’ second game against UMHB.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Trinity senior infielder Dalys Binder posted a .700 batting average (7-for-10), while collecting five RBI, two triples and a home runs in the Tigers’ three-game series with Millikin. Schreiner senior outfielder Austin Contreras led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 record last week, going 4-for-7 at the plate (.571) while adding three RBI, two runs and two stolen bases. Texas Lutheran junior third baseman Nick Gardoni drove in six runs for the Bulldogs’ last week in their three-game series with Millikin.
