BELTON, Texas - Southwestern dropped just five games all match as the Pirates took an easy 9-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor Sunday.

SU got off to a strong start, winning handily in doubles play. Julie Swets and Esther Bowers dropped just one game at #1 to win 8-1 while Nicole Wilson and Maranda Kahl were perfect at #2 doubles, winning 8-0.

Cardone (#1) and Schneeman (#2) continued their dominance in singles play, both winning their matches 6-0, 6-0. Marianna Quetzeri (#3) took down Burk 6-1, 6-0, Stephanie Bartusov (#4) won 6-0, 6-2 and Isabel Candelairo followed suit with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #5 singles.

The Crusaders were competing with a reduced squad and were forced to forfeit at #6 singles and #3 doubles.

"Both doubles teams with Esther/Julie and Maranda/Nicole were really strong today," said Head Coach Billy Porter. "Isabel played her first college match and not only won but got the clinch for us. Very cool moment for her and the girls. And Mary, Anna, Mariana and Stephanie all played good tennis and got wins for us that we needed on the road."

Southwestern improves to 11-4 on the year and return to action on Saturday, April 14th as they host conference-rival Trinity at 10 am before taking on McMurry at 5 pm at home.
