
BELTON, Texas - Southwestern dropped just five games all match as the Pirates took an easy 9-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor Sunday.
SU got off to a strong start, winning handily in doubles play. Julie Swets and Esther Bowers dropped just one game at #1 to win 8-1 while Nicole Wilson and Maranda Kahl were perfect at #2 doubles, winning 8-0.
Cardone (#1) and Schneeman (#2) continued their dominance in singles play, both winning their matches 6-0, 6-0. Marianna Quetzeri (#3) took down Burk 6-1, 6-0, Stephanie Bartusov (#4) won 6-0, 6-2 and Isabel Candelairo followed suit with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #5 singles.
The Crusaders were competing with a reduced squad and were forced to forfeit at #6 singles and #3 doubles.
Southwestern improves to 11-4 on the year and return to action on Saturday, April 14th as they host conference-rival Trinity at 10 am before taking on McMurry at 5 pm at home.
