UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS ATHLETICS

UD Women Outrun Colorado College, Move to .500

In a high scoring affair, the UD women's basketball team easily defeated the Colorado College Tigers 94-76. Most of the Crusaders shots today were easy ones, as they easily handled the Tiger press and went in for layup after layup. Overall, UD shot 52% from the field.

Four of the Crusaders were in double figures. Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) had her second straight double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Also in double figures were freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel H.S.), junior forward/center Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch H.S.), and freshman guard Christina Curt (Katy, TX/Faith West Academy). Curt's point total of 19 was good enough to go down as both her season and her career high.

The team has been on a bit of a hot streak, having won 5 of their last 7 games. With the win UD improved their record to 10-10, but more importantly they are now playing their best ball of the year, and showing that they will definitely be contenders for the NEAC championship later this month.

The Dallas women's next game is on Tuesday, February 9 in Conway, AR. UD will take on the Warriors from Hendrix College at 5:30pm.
