CONWAY, Ark. - First-year Kip Karschnik led the Pirates with three goals as Southwestern destroyed Hendrix College 7-1 Sunday afternoon. 

Things were relatively quiet early until Karschnik got hot as he scored his first career goal, assisted by Christian Lopez, in the 23rd minute. SU held just a 1-0 lead at halftime but wasted not time in the second half extending their lead. 

Jake Swonke found Keenan Anderson just 16 seconds into the second half and Karschinik added a goal a minute later to put SU up 3-0. Southwestern refused to let off the gas as Karschinik, Mason Daniel, and Santiago Salazar all added goals. 

Hendrix scored just before the final buzzer sounded to arrive at the final. 

Southwestern (2-0) heads to Abilene for two games against tough ASC opponents UT Dallas and Hardin-Simmons beginning Friday, September 8th.
